Water Problems

an Ag View

In 1985 the North County Women’s Shelter opened two houses, one in Paso Robles and one in Atascadero for abused women and children. According to Eileen Allan, Executive Director, they currently have about 60 families in the shelters with 60% of the population being children. Eileen was our guest speaker last meeting and shared a very compelling presentation

The Women Shelter provides free service and basic needs like food and clothing, and also free transportation to therapy for victims of abuse. The maximum stay is 90 days to assist in emergency situations while long range plans can be formulated.

North County Women’s Shelter also provides a counseling program, open to anyone; free clinics regarding domestic violence and restraining orders; and they make visits to high school class rooms to speak about healthy families and offer help to unhealthy families.  To learn more about the Women’s Shelter visit them on line at: www.northcountywomensshelter.org.
