March 5, 2010

At our last meeting we had a financial update by President Bill, and Marc Amesse shared his “Craft Talk” with us.
Marc is currently working for State Farm Insurance. His story, coming up the ranks so to speak, is one of intrigue and interest.
Born into a military family, Marc moved around a lot. His father was active duty Air Force and later Marc also joined the Air Force as a medic.
He swept us through his life, from going down an aqueduct in a shopping cart with his younger siblings at age 8 in LA, to firing a 50 caliber machine gun from a med-evac helicopter while in the Air Force.
Life after the Air Force included furthering his education, a lot of odds and ends working for non-profit organizations developing and implementing fund-raising programs and projects.
When Marc realized working pro bono for non-profits was not going to help support his growing family, he came to the Central Coast and got a “real” job and loves what he is doing at State Farm, and we love having him in our club. Thanks Marc for all that you are doing, already, in our club and for our community and world through Rotary.
